Checking for the PostScript name Acrobat Distiller looks for a PostScript font name and adds it to the PDF document. PostScript font names are usually listed in the name table of a font. (The name table stores font information, such as name, style, and copyright.) If a PostScript name isn't available, Acrobat Distiller uses the system's name for the font. For example, if the original document includes a TrueType font that's installed on the system, Acrobat Distiller derives the BaseFont and FontName from the font's name table.
